Beta 1.1.0
There is now an official Glasses App website at theglassesapp.com. New versions of the app, release notes, and announcements will be posted here moving forward.
You can now check for updated from the app. If an update is availble simple download it from this site, and run the instaler to update.
You can now find app information in the About menu, located in the main hamburger menu.
The hamburger menu now includes an Exit button that closes Glasses cleanly and shuts down related background work.
Saved review sessions now open inside the main Glasses window, instead of popping up in a separate window.
When reviewing a slide, you can now open the associated PNG directly from the review panel with the new View Slide Capture button.
Glasses now trims stray OCR separator marks from the beginning or end of detected slide titles.
Keyword suggestions now have extra OCR guardrails and a much larger bundled common-word list to reduce obvious junk, fragments, repeated lowercase characters, standalone table headers, and awkward multi-word phrases from appearing in review.
Editing a single slide in the metadata editor now refreshes only the touched index entries instead of rebuilding the entire course index.
When you upload a book PDF for page numbering, Glasses now shows a progress bar and clearer status updates while it scans the file, matches pages, and refreshes indexes.
When you finish reviewing saved slides, Glasses closes that review session, turns Live Review back off, and lets you know your indexes were updated.
The review area now gives clearer messages while loading, finishing, and updating your course indexes.
Release Summary
This release focuses on making Glasses easier to navigate, easier to update, and smoother to use during slide review. The largest improvements are around review flow, title cleanup, keyword quality, metadata saves, and clearer progress messages during longer tasks.
These release notes are live now, and the public installer is available from the Downloads page.
